Dalhousie University has a requirement for a flotation collar system to house a Vemco VR4UWM acoustic hydrophone receiver used in animal tracking and oceanographic studies conducted by the Ocean Tracking Network, (OTN). The equipment is to be used in an ongoing project that is being funded by CFI for five years. It is anticipated that there will be an initial purchase of 50 units. Additional purchases may occur throughout the project/Contract period depending on budget availability and project requirements.

The moorings will be deployed in the marine environment. The flotation collars will be moored either on or near bottom at depths up to 500m or suspended in the mid-water by means of a riser cable or rope. 
This tender is for the flotation assembly only and does not include any instrumentation, acoustic hydrophone receiver or acoustic release. Riser material and anchor specifications and pricing may be included under separate cover and will be considered separately unless these items are integral to the design of the flotation collar itself.
