| Description: |
Dalhousie University has a mix of virtual and physical computer labs for teaching. The virtual lab environment, referred to as Vlab, is currently underutilized. Students want to use a combination of physical computer lab machines and personal laptops. Some faculties are interested in moving to a BYOD model whereas others like the consistency in teaching. The virtual lab has had usage that are currently below expectations, so raising awareness is important if it is to remain available. While a few professors include it in their courses, most surveyed students are either unaware of it or choose not to use it. Among those who have tried it, the primary complaint is that performance varies based on the user's device and internet quality. More robust feature sets would definitely be received favorably. As a result, we are seeking a solution that is easy to use, has the features that students and faculty need, with the ability to access their lab environment from anywhere and from any device regardless of the device specs. Please Note: To ensure the latest information and updates regarding this bid, the onus is on the bidder to ensure they are monitoring the bidding system for issued addenda, clarifications and instructions that may impact submissions. |
